What is your path?

Self-development

How are you experiencing the current post-pandemic period? Do you question the meaning of your life more than ever?

Maybe this challenging time made you realize that you didn’t come to earth to work to death or to try to grab a piece of your neighbor’s land; that the meaning of your life could be to have healthy relationships, to go beyond your limits, to explore, to learn, to grow and to raise your consciousness.

But more to the point, what is the meaning you want to give your life daily? What is the real motivation that gets you out of bed in the morning? Does it satisfy you?

Japanese culture has a concept that helps us discover the meaning we want to give to our life; it is called Ikigai, which means “live (ikilu) and “merit” (gai).

To have found your Ikigaï is to have the feeling of being in your rightful place; a place that lies at the junction of four decisive elements:

  • Your mission: what you know how to do.
  • Your passion: what you love to do.
  • Your vocation: what the world needs.
  • Your profession: what you can get paid.

Finding your life’s purpose can be challenging, but it is a worthwhile journey! When you have discovered it, you can live in the moment with joy and benefit from a life that lives up to your desires!

To illustrate this, Dan Buettner, an American explorer, and author, discovered the particularity of the small island of Okinawa. Its inhabitants practice Ikigai as a philosophy of life, and they live longer and in better health than the rest of the world.

Fortunately, you don’t have to move to Okinawa for a better life, and you can discover your Ikigai from home.

Today, I invite you to do so by discovering your Ikigai in this short book by Hector Garcia And Francesc Miralles. Once you have found your life’s purpose, you can transform your daily experiences into life-giving energy.
