I start with the man in the mirror…

Self-development

Written by Sophie Parienti

Are you able to give yourself love? When you look in the mirror, are you always pleasant and friendly to yourself?

We can be so loving and kind to others. So why do we have such a hard time being nice to the person who has helped us overcome so many difficulties – Ourselves

Simply because of a lack of self-esteem. And this pernicious feeling concerns many of us, from near or far! It can be that of the anxious, depressed, etc., but also those who manifest excess confidence in themselves and say they only see perfection in the mirror!

What determines self-esteem is the perception, the vision we have of ourselves, the value we attribute to our person, and the way we appreciate and respect ourselves. It is our image, love, and self-confidence united and built in our childhood, through the events of our lives, and over time.

Here are my tips if you struggle to sprinkle self-esteem into your life and see the beautiful and unique person you are when looking in the mirror:

  • Stop looking elsewhere for ways to boost your self-esteem because only you can do it. All the resources to do it are inside you!
  • Thoughts have power, don’t let them have dominion over you. Avoid toxic and devaluing mindsets taking over your life.
  • Stop criticizing, blaming, and judging others and yourself; use your words and your inner voice for positive purposes.
  • Value yourself, recognize your qualities, and notice the beautiful things that happen to you and around you. Daily, see at least three things you can be proud of.
  • Instead of being overwhelmed by every obstacle, step back to discover the opportunities to free yourself from limiting beliefs and evolving.
  • Be authentic, identify your values, and respect them by setting boundaries.

Remember to honor and celebrate every step and aspect of life to keep you in the virtual circle of self-esteem!
